Once it has been determined that you need an operation, Mr. Etherington’s Reception staff will be able to provide you with a cost estimate for your surgery. All patients proceeding to surgery will be required to have signed a form of acceptance and paid for these fees a minimum of one week prior to surgery.
Mr. Etherington use’s the Australian Medical Association recommended fee as a guide to fees charged. This means that there will be a portion of your surgical fee which will not be covered by Medicare or your health fund. It is important that you ask about this gap prior to receiving treatment.
For WorkSafe, TAC or Third Party patients, surgery will not be finalised unless prior approval has been received from the insuring party.
Please be advised that when you have an operation there is a fee for your attending surgeon, his assistant, the anaesthetist and the hospital.
Our staff are fully informed about charges and rebates and will be able to help you navigate your way through this complex area.
